Booking on a Friday or Saturday night at Buenos Aires Cafe in Blackheath is a problem. But now it’s a lot easier to experience Buenos Aires’ authentic Argentinian cuisine for yourself. Because Buenos Aires Café arrived on 21 June in the heart of Greenwich, with a combined café and restaurant.
This new all-day dining venue serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between to the hungry residents of Greenwich, as well as being an easily accessible and affordable stop-off for tourists and other visitors. It is a much larger affair than its sister restaurant up in Blackheath, with around 80 covers in two large airy rooms, one of which has been built from scratch, plus outdoor seating in a sheltered patio garden.
The menu
Will be similar to the one in Blackheath. There will, however, be some changes:
- An array of fish dishes to complement the steak, chicken and lamb – mussels served with handmade chips, and salmon cooked on the Josper charcoal grill, which imparts a sublime flavour to barbecued meat and fish.
- A full hot breakfast menu every morning, featuring eggs lots of different ways, a ‘Full English’, made with homemade chorizo sausages, along with the usual pastries and coffee, to help start the day – and a perfect accompaniment to the newspapers and venerated coffee at weekends.
- Later on in the day afternoon tea and cake will be served, or early evening aperitifs with picadas – Argentinian tapas.
- Plus all the favourite lunch dishes to go: burgers, chorripan, and more.
