Aramark, a global provider of food, facilities management and uniform services, has picked up a prestigious ‘Eat Safe’ award from the Food Standards Scotland and Aberdeen City Council.
The accolade, for the restaurants and dining areas Aramark provides at BP’s North Sea Headquarter offices in Dyce, Aberdeen, shows that food is prepared in hygienic, clean and safe conditions which go beyond those required in environmental health legislation.
Nominated after an inspection
Illustrating the rigour of the awards, only premises nominated by the local Environmental Health Officer after an inspection are eligible to be considered. The inspection covers not just the eating areas and kitchens, but all relevant associated areas including toilets, food storage areas, and staff rooms.
David Gray, Environmental Health Officer, Aberdeen City Council, said of Aramark’s award: “I am delighted to have presented the prestigious Eat Safe award to Aramark at BP North Sea Headquarters following a Food Hygiene inspection.
“Eat Safe awards are given to catering establishments where standards are judged to exceed those required by law. At the time of my visit, Aramark demonstrated through its practices and procedures that it was thoroughly deserving of the award.”
The award was presented in May this year following a Food Hygiene inspection on 23 March 2015.
