Hot on the London trend for big breakfasts and boozy brunches, Drake & Morgan has launched its Sunday Brunch in a big way across six of its eight stylish bars and restaurants across London, including The Refinery on Bankside, The Fable in Farringdon, The Parlour in Canada Square and The Happenstance, The Folly and The Drift in the City.
Crafted by executive chef Robert Mitchell and making the most of seasonal, British ingredients as well as drawing on inspiration from across the globe, D&M aims to make Sunday Brunch one to remember.
The all-day breakfast includes an elegant eggs benedict, a gourmet bacon sandwich, beautiful blueberry pancakes with lashings of maple syrup, and an awesome avocado on sourdough with chilli and poached egg.
Those looking for something heartier can choose between starters, mains and desserts. Try the signature Scotch egg with piccalilli or the light watermelon, courgette, feta and pomegranate salad to start. Then move on to the pea and lemon risotto with mascarpone or Wagyu burger with blue cheese and tomato chutney for main. And finish with the Eton mess with strawberries and salted caramel or plum sundae with honeycomb for dessert.
Two roasts are also available including free-range half chicken or rib of beef, both with Yorkshire pudding and served family-style in the centre of the table with crisp roasties and all the trimmings.
Drinks
Pick from four different bloody marys including the tried-and-trusted Classic, the spice-spiked Those Bloody Brits, the zesty Tomatini, and the fruity Mary’s Apple & Pears. All four are available across the six restaurants though they are best enjoyed at the Ketel One Vodka Kitchen pop-up at The Folly, which runs until September with a full calendar of events from build-your-own-bloodys through to mixology masterclasses.
Alternatively, guests can sample one of D&M’s new springtime sips, including the Mimosa NYC (prosecco, orange juice, kumquat shrub, kwai feh lychee), Brit Spritz (Kamm & Sons, Chapel Down, elderflower, soda), Flight Of The Cucumber (Hendrick’s, Maraschino, violet, cucumber, lemon) and Beauty Of The Orient (Ketel One, vermouth, mint green tea, coriander, pomegranate molasses).
#SelfieSofa
As the weather continues to warm up, try brunch al fresco on one of the terraces at The Parlour or The Refinery. Alternatively, drop by the latter to sit on a dedicated #SelfieSofa that has been set up to celebrate: running from 5 to 12 May, gather a group, take a selfie using @therefinerybar #SelfieSofa, and the most shared/liked at the end of the week will win brunch for the group worth £250.
