Slug and Lettuce to welcome Saints and Sinners

December 26, 2014

Slug and Lettuce will be inviting its customers to decide if they are saints or sinners this January.

The national bar operator will be introducing a new month long ‘Saints or Sinners’ food and drinks range across its 74 bars. Sitting alongside three indulgent dishes and tempting cocktails will be three lower calorie alternative dishes and non-alcoholic cocktails, targeting those customers with healthy New Year resolutions in mind.

“We find that so often in January customers still want to venture out and have a social life but don’t want to over indulge or break their New Year resolutions. So we have created this menu to offer choice for our customers whatever menu they decide, making it light-hearted and fun,” said Nicola Stuart, Brand Development Manager at Slug and Lettuce.

For ‘Saints’

On the ‘Saints’ list, the healthy lower calorie dishes, all under 500 calories, are smoky Spanish chicken with quinoa and couscous (473 cal), mushroom and asparagus risotto (496 cal) and salmon and pepper skewers, chargrilled and served on a bed of salad (368 cal). Customers can treat themselves to a non-alcoholic cocktail – a passion fruit mojito, strawberry daiquiri or strapple smoothie.

And Sinners

Winter warmer dishes including sticky tabasco coated chicken wings with dips, a pork or beef hotdog topped with BBQ pulled pork and smoked mozzarella or chicken parmigiana, (chicken breaded escalope topped with Wiltshire ham, rich tomato sauce and melted cheese, served on chips) make up the alternative list, accompanied by two classic Slug and Lettuce cocktails and a strawberry and vanilla milkshake.

Dishes are available from £5.95 with drinks from £3.75.
