New buyers have snapped up Tenby’s landmark Heywood Mount Hotel from LPA Receivers at Begbies Traynor in a deal brokered by sector specialists Colliers International.
Described as the town’s leading hotel, Heywood Mount closed suddenly earlier this year, and new owner Claire Nutty said:
“For those couples who arranged wedding receptions at the venue and have not been able to find alternative arrangements, they should know that part of our commitment to buy the hotel was to take a sympathetic look at each case to try and accommodate as many people as time and space allows.”
The hotel boasts 25 bedrooms with a flexible restaurant and function room which made Heywood Mount such a popular venue for wedding parties. It is within easy walking distance of the walled centre and Tenby’s picturesque harbour and beaches.
Claire and husband Pete are new to the industry having worked for years in the oil and gas industry both at home and in the Far and Middle East, but are busy breathing life back into the hotel and the couple have big plans to ensure it is restored to full operations – hopefully by early June.
Claire said: “We’ve channelled a lot of energy putting the resources in place required to run the hotel efficiently. Full refurbishment of the kitchen has already started in order to ensure the facilities meet the high standards our guests expect.”
Major refurbishment of the restaurant, reception and spa will begin early 2015 to ensure Heywood Mount Hotel is restored to its former splendour.
