Partnership boosts apprenticeship vacancies on sector’s careers portal

September 30, 2013

A new partnership between the Hospitality Guild and the National Apprenticeship Service means that nearly 1,500 live apprenticeship vacancies are now up for the taking on the umbrella organisation’s careers portal.

The work is part of the Hospitality Guild’s Act NOW! on Apprenticeships campaign, targeted at improving the knowledge, understanding and ultimately the uptake of apprenticeships in the hospitality sector.

The partnership means that hospitality apprenticeship jobs advertised on Apprenticeships vacancies will automatically appear on the Hospitality Guild’s web portal.

Martine Pullen, head of pre-employment and apprenticeships at the Hospitality Guild, said that the partnership highlights the potential of the careers portal for young people entering the sector:

“There has been so much talk about students understanding that apprenticeships can bring some fantastic opportunities, but we need to have the vacancies to meet this demand.

“The work with the National Apprenticeship Service helps in this respect and is a great step to position the Hospitality Guild’s portal as the one-stop-shop for vacancies in our sector, whether apprenticeships or not.”

Carolyn Savage, head of Apprenticeship vacancies at the National Apprenticeship Service said they were pleased to work with the Hospitality Guild to ensure vacancies reached as many people as possible:

“The Guild is really committed to promoting quality apprenticeships, as are we, so by joining forces we can make sure we’re spreading the word about how to find them.

“This partnership will allow us to reach an even larger group of people, helping us really maximise the potential of every vacancy.”

Register and apply at no cost

People who want to apply for the vacancies are also encouraged to register for free as members of the Hospitality Guild on the web portal at www.hospitalityguild.co.uk. They can then create a profile and upload their CV so that employers can find them. Joining the Guild also lets registered individuals access exclusive training materials, information around recommended colleges, providers and quality employers, and a range of advice, case studies and career tools.

“We’re really excited about the progress we’re making with the portal. From the careers map, personality test and list of providers, it has now grown to include a range of resources from our network of professional bodies that members can use to advance their career and develop contacts

that will be crucial to their future success. Resources will continue to be added to make this the ultimate place to access careers information for our sector,” added Martine.
