H & C News was delighted to hear of these initiatives from H & J which are designed recognise and reward staff. Shame the pic doesn’t show how they dressed up at RADA!
Last week H&J hosted a reception at Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), where they are also the in-house caterer, to acknowledge and praise staff members who had completed five years employment with the company.
Aptly named the Five Year Club, on the 23 September, 38 new members were joined by colleagues to toast their long-standing success with H&J. The evening proceeded in true RADA style, with staff raiding the props box before being presented on stage with their awards from owners Patrick Harbour and Nathan Jones.
“We’re very pleased to be celebrating our 10 year anniversary next year and we’re proud to say our Five Year Club is rapidly expanding, with a staggering 62 alumni,” said Nathan Jones, co-owner and director.
Duvet day
“It’s important to us to acknowledge the loyalty and hard work of our staff which is why we first started the club four years ago. We also treat staff to what we call a duvet day. They are given an extra day off, a DVD box set of their choice and a gorgeous H&J breakfast hamper delivered to them on their chosen day.”
Best Employers in Hospitality nomination
H&J has also been nominated for the coveted Best Employers in Hospitality award, which is made extra special as it is judged only by the staff that work for the company via an engagement survey.
