On 28 August, Spice 2 Go – the UK’s first and only Indian takeaway/delivery chain – opened its second store, which is located in Cardiff. The chain has ambitions for as many as 500 outlets in the UK.
The Cardiff store will opened its doors with a brightly coloured launch event featuring Bollywood dancers and Indian dhol (drum) players, along with celebrity chef Dipna, mascot Spice Man, as well as The Apprentice’s Alex Mills, who declared the store open for business.
Spice 2 Go will offer the people of Cardiff a fresh and revolutionary Indian takeaway experience, just as it is already doing in Swansea. The menu, quality of service, standard of hygiene, daily offers, and taste of the food will remain consistent from store to store. There are also deals on every day, including More 4 Monday (buy one get one free on curry, rice and naan).
Celebrity chef Dipna joins Spice 2 Go
The news of the second store coincides with the announcement that celebrity chef Dipna has joined Spice 2 Go as its signature chef. She will be helping to perfect its existing recipes, as well as developing brand new dishes for the chain. Her first signature recipe is Methi Chicken, which her grandfather developed more than half a century ago – and it’s now available to order from all Spice 2 Go stores.
Next steps of expansion
Not long after the opening of Spice 2 Go Cardiff, the chain will be seeing the first of its franchise stores opening in Bristol and Sidcup, London. With visions of this fresh young takeaway franchise chain having more than 500 stores across the UK in 10 years, this is the start of its plans.
