ARAMARK has scooped a wide-ranging services contract with the University of Bedfordshire.
Operating across two campuses, in Bedford and Luton, ARAMARK will provide a food court, Costa coffee outlets, summer school services, hospitality and vending at each site.
The three-year contract, with scope to extend for a further two, began in April 2013 and is valued at around four million pounds for the initial three-year period. ARAMARK replaces the previous provider, Sodexo.
The contract is the latest in a string of Higher Education wins for ARAMARK, following new business with the University of Westminster and the University of Worcester.
“Our approach to Higher Education is simple, but effective,” says Tracey Smith, ARAMARK’s Business Development Director – Education. “We deliver fantastic food and drink in stimulating and relaxing spaces – creating environments where both students and staff want to eat, meet up with friends and colleagues, study and work, or simply just chill out.
“Ultimately, we provide superb facilities which give our university clients some great selling points as they compete to attract prospective students.”
Established in 2006, the University of Bedfordshire has over 24,000 students across its five campuses, and was commended in the Government’s most recent Research Assessment Exercise for its ‘world leading’ research.
