In another sign of the success of international cuisines in the UK, Spanish bar and restaurant group Camino, which offers the life and soul and tastes of Spain at its bars and restaurants in London, is to open up to seven more restaurants by 2015, creating up to 250 jobs. This is in addition to the three restaurants it already operates, employing around 125 people.
The fourth Camino will open in Blackfriars in spring 2013, offering authentic Spanish food, drink and atmosphere to customers based around the City.
Camino opened its first restaurant in King’s Cross in 2007; in 2010, the second Camino opened in Canary Wharf, with the third opening in Monument in 2012. The group also owns the award-winning Bar Pepito, which became the first dedicated sherry bar in Britain when it opened in King’s Cross in 2010.
Camino was established in 2007 by Richard Bigg and Nigel Foster, who have worked together since opening their first bar in Shoreditch in 1995. Richard Bigg, Managing Director of Camino, commented:
“We want to bring the life and soul and tastes of Spain to more Londoners. We are delighted to be opening in the heart of the City, in Blackfriars, in spring 2013 and plan to open several more sites in the coming years.”
Business Growth Fund invests £3million
Camino has just received a £3million investment from the Business Growth Fund to help its further expansion in London and the UK. The Fund has been established to help Britain’s fast-growing smaller and medium sized businesses.
