The British Pub Channel has launched and claims to list more pubs than any other website: you can find a pub, find a pub address or find a pub phone number; execute a quick pub search or an advanced pub search; find your nearest pub or find pubs in any UK location. With 45,500 pubs listed (a number that is growing daily), this aims to be the ultimate pub finder website, and will be launching its mobile site soon.
Users: can click the Add a Pub button to add their favourite pubs to the pub listings.

The site aims to be both serious and fun: videos and features will add to the news, information and entertainment that make Pubs a great British treasure that should be celebrated. In the words of founder, Philip Porter:
“So, how do we encourage the celebration of British pubs? First, create a website – nothing clever about that. It’s the obvious starting point today. But it has to be better than the rest and be more than a hobby. It has to get serious. So, it needs lots of content, helpful information and video content, as well as GPS for finding pubs. It needs to inform and entertain, so people return to the site and the pub world wants to work with us on this. So, we need pub videos and programmes that fulfil those criteria. We already have a few and the number will grow.”
The British Pub is certainly an important part of our heritage, one that is valued by visitors as well as locals, and one that needs all the help it can get to ensure its future.
