Our good friends at Great British Chefs. Apple started publishing weekly charts for paid and free apps on iPhone and iPad in the UK, through a partnership with the Press Association in November.
The charts are based on sales and downloads in the company’s British App Store over the previous seven days, and at the moment the top ‘Lifestyle’ App for the Christmas period is from Great British Chefs.
There has been so much chat about Jamie Oliver being the no 1 cook book again but no one is focusing on the big upset of the year. That a collection of 21 chefs are about to secure the no 1 iPad app slot beating Jamie Oliver and loads of others.
Chefs, food and recipe related Apps feature strongly in the ‘Lifestyle’ category including…Jamie Oliver (11) James Martin (49) Gordon Ramsay (50) Masterchef (34) and BBC Good Food (8).
So our hearty congratulations go out to Ollie and his gang on a great 2011 topped off with being Christmas number 1. Fantastic!
Anyone not familiar with the Great British Chefs website, which Time Out describes as ‘Food Porn’ can see why we love it here
