Acting on behalf of Charles Wells, the Bedfordshire-based brewer and pub company, Christie + Co has acquired the freehold of the two-AA-rosette Knife & Cleaver restaurant with rooms, in the Bedfordshire village of Houghton Conquest, for an undisclosed sum.
The pub, which was being sold by LPA Receiver GVA Grimley, is a 17th-century destination dining venue located opposite the medieval parish church in the village.
The business features a 70-seat restaurant; a 40-seat bar; a 12-seat snug; plus nine letting bedrooms.
The pub will undergo a refurbishment to improve the living and trading areas including the letting rooms.
Anthony Jenkins, Associate Director at Christie + Co, said: “We are delighted to have been able to secure this superb pub for Charles Wells and aid the company in the expansion of its tenanted estate.”
