Neil Court-Johnston joins Peter’s Food Service

October 28, 2010

Peter’s Food Service, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of pies, pasties and sausage rolls, has appointed Neil Court-Johnston, former Managing Director of Holland’s Pies, to the new post of Managing Director of its Food Service Division.

With 10 distribution depots throughout the UK, Peter’s has more than 50 years’ experience in supplying fast food outlets, fish bars, restaurants, cafes, sandwich shops, independent retailers, schools, hospitals and hotels with a range of over 900 separate product lines.

The business services 8,000 customers annually and prides itself on its ability to offer flexible, next day delivery and its innovative products such as the new Pepperoni Pizza and All Day Breakfast Slices.

Mike Grimwood, Managing Director of the Peter’s Group, believes that the food service division has plenty of potential yet to be realised. “With our portfolio of products and a growing reputation for quality, service and innovation, Peter’s presents an exceptional opportunity to develop nationally.

In Neil, we have attracted someone who is well equipped with the necessary ambition, talent and know-how to lead the next phase of our business growth.”

Neil Court-Johnston is looking forward to his new role: “Peter’s is a dynamic business and I look forward to helping it realise its vision to be recognised as the leading innovator of savoury pastry in UK.

My priorities will be to develop the Peter’s brand within foodservice, work harder to ensure that we always meet our customers’ needs and grow our business through new sales channels. I’m very much looking forward to the challenge.”

Peter’s Food Service began life as a small pie manufacturer in South Wales. Today it’s one of Britain’s best-loved brands of pies, pasties and sausage rolls. The business produces over 3 million delicious pastries every week. Today the business is based in Bedwas, South Wales and employs 700 people with an annual turnover of £65 million.
