Blenheim Palace Scoops two Silver Tourism Awards

Blenheim Palace received two Silver Awards in the ‘Large Visitor Attraction of the Year’ category and the ‘Sports Tourism Award’ for Bike Blenheim Palace, at The Beautiful South’s Awards for Excellence on 21st October at Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey.

With a total of 19 Award categories recognising the very best Tourism businesses in the Region, the Beautiful South Awards are the premier awards for the tourism industry.

The annual Awards are now in their 20th year and they recognise exceptional levels of customer service and dedication to raising standards in the tourism industry.

A record number of entries to the prestigious Awards led to an impressive shortlist with winners announced by guest host Nicholas Owen and Tourism South East Chairman, John Williams. Finalists from across the region were guests at the celebratory evening.

John Hoy, Chief Executive of Blenheim Palace said: ‘We are delighted to have received two Silver Awards in the Beautiful South Awards for Large Visitor Attraction of the Year, and Sports Tourism for Bike Blenheim Palace. After winning the 2010 Oxfordshire Business of the Year at the Oxfordshire Business Awards, it is a great credit to everyone within the business at Blenheim Palace to receive these awards and this recognition in the wider region’.‘We offer our congratulations to all tonight’s winners’, said Mike Bedingfield, Chief Executive of Tourism South East. ‘Our industry’s commitment to providing the best possible customer service and to exceeding customer expectations is outstanding.’

‘The current economic climate continues to present many challenges for the tourism industry, however, the standards achieved by our Award winners this year show their determination to deliver the highest level of customer satisfaction,’ added Bedingfield.

Blenheim Palace is home to the 11th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough, situated just eight miles from Oxford in the heart of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.
