Urban & Country Leisure Ltd, the innovative pub and restaurant operator, run by entrepreneur Ross Sanders, has unveiled plans to expand into the UK small hotel market with the launch of its first exclusive boutique style hotel. UCL, which currently operates fourteen high end pubs and restaurants across the UK, has invested £1.5 million transforming the former Globe Hotel in Warwick into a hotel, pub, restaurant that will now be called The Lazy Cow.
The hotel, which is currently in build phase is expected to open in October. The launch of The Lazy Cow is part of an aggressive two year expansion plan that will also see the independent hospitality operator plan to open a further ten small boutique hotels, in addition to expanding its pub and restaurant estate with a further twelve pub/restaurants in 2011/2012 as part of its overall £15m expansion plans.
