UK public internet access leader, Spectrum Interactive, expands solution portfolio with value-add services for hospitality sector
. Launches new Internet Kiosk System
. Unveils touchscreen WiFi printing solution to enable printing from any internet device
Hemel Hempstead, UK, 29th July 2010: Spectrum Interactive, a specialist provider of communication, entertainment and internet access solutions, has added to its portfolio with two new solutions – a compact internet kiosk for the hospitality market and an innovative, touchscreen, WiFi printing solution which enables printing from any internet device, including BlackBerry.
Modern and contemporary, Spectrum’s new, feature-rich Internet Kiosk System has been specifically designed for the hospitality sector as a “mini-business centre”. Featuring the latest technology, including a wide, flat-screen monitor, USB port, headphone jack, and office and messaging applications, the IKS is the ideal value-add for hotel guests travelling without their own hardware.
Easy-to-use with a familiar “desktop experience”, Spectrum’s IKS offers various convenient payment options including cash, credit/debit card and pre-paid voucher. As with all Spectrum’s internet desk solutions, the IKS is centrally managed by Spectrum and includes maintenance, network monitoring, cash collection, content filtering, and support for staff and users.
Spectrum has also launched a touchscreen, WiFi printing solution which enables printing from any internet connected device, including internet kiosk, laptop, mobile phone and BlackBerry.
The service can be run over an existing WiFi infrastructure and allows the user to print emails, attachments or web content by simply emailing their print job to a dedicated address or uploading to URL. The user receives a unique PIN code which can then be used to retrieve their documents via the solution’s touchscreen interface.
“Our latest products have been specifically developed to meet the hospitality sector’s need for value-add and convenient public access services. The new IKS is the perfect user-friendly and private fallback for any guest finding themselves needing to connect, email or work whilst away from base,” explained Julian Foxon, director of Spectrum’s hospitality division.
“We’ve listened to feedback and developed solutions which give end-users the features and functionality that they most want. For example, for hotel guests travelling light and favouring their BlackBerry or other handheld device over their laptop, WiFI printing becomes the perfect way to remain productive,” he concluded.
Mark Lewarne, CEO of Spectrum, added, “These latest solutions are testament to our continued innovation and commitment to offering new solutions which hold real, tangible benefits to our clients and their customers. We’ve been at the forefront of public internet access and services for over a decade and today serve over 1,500 sites across the hospitality and travel sectors with solutions including internet kiosks, WiFi and digital signage.
We introduced a WiFi printing service to several of our airport clients over recent months – including Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted – which has proved to be a great success. We see huge potential for WiFi printing in many other sectors, including hospitality and retail.”
Spectrum offers a wide range of flexible commercial options, tailor-made for individual needs. For further information, please contact…
