To celebrate the opening of their new pizzeria in Clapham, Radio Alice will launch their Gold Coin Campaign to raise money for Libera Terra – the co-operative who produce organic wine in Sicily on land liberated from mafia control. From 26th June until the end of July, guests will be able to buy a second pizza for £1, with all proceeds donated to Libera Terra.
Hailing from Bologna, brothers Matteo and Salvatore Aloe have brought their sourdough pizzas to London with Radio Alice on Hoxton Square and their new opening on Clapham’s Venn Street this June. Championing the belief that delicious pizza starts with a light and digestible sourdough base, the brothers’ integrity in ingredients extends from the dough through to carefully sourced toppings. Allowing the dough to ferment for 24 hours, Radio Alice’s pizzaiolos use type 1 organic flour, with more nutrients than standard, refined flour and seasonal, organic toppings from Prosciutto di Parma with organic burrata and orange infused oil, to Amalfi coast Anchovies, tomato, red onion and lemon zest.
“Community is at the heart of what we do at Radio Alice, so to celebrate our new opening we wanted to support our roots. We’ve worked with Libera Terra for years, hailing back to our first pizzeria, Berbere in Bologna and we were glad to be able to bring their organic wine to London” says co-founder Salvatore. “We believe it’s important to support small-scale producers by using organic, quality ingredients and what better way to do that than with good pizza and great wine – Saluti to that!” adds Head Pizzaiolo and co-founder Matteo.
