Today, leading hotel brand Radisson Blu, has announced a unique nationwide search to find a new ‘Board of Directors’ – with a difference. A group of Mini CEOs (Child Entertainment Officers) are being sought to help consult on the hotels’ family offering across the UK and Ireland this summer.
The chosen mini CEOs will win a free stay at a Radisson Blu of their choice for them and their family, along with all the perks of a weekend getaway: free restaurant meals and plenty of leisure time.
Boys and girls between the ages of 6 – 10 years can apply for the role (and ask their parents or guardians to be a reference for them)- as long as they meet the entry requirements. These include:
- Having a sense of humour
- Like going on holiday and staying in hotels
- Has an outgoing personality
- Enjoys good food
- Not afraid to give their honest opinion
- Has a sense of style
- Can command attention with adults
Likes jumping on beds and into swimming pools
Candidates must also be available to attend their first meeting with the grown-ups at one of six Radisson Blu hotels in either Edinburgh, Durham, London, Sligo, Limerick and Cork, during the school holidays this August. Additionally, they will be asked to join other Mini CEOs selected from around the UK & Ireland, to attend a group board meeting at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel, London in October 2017.
A total of six playful board directors will be chosen to represent the six hotels and as part of their job, they will spend a fun-filled weekend away with their parent/guardian and asked to fulfil a number of tasks. These will include reviewing the family packs (colouring in skills are a must), eating sweet treats (with their parents’ permission, of course), a tasting in the restaurant (reviewing the food and giving recommendations for new dishes), creating their own ice cream and shaking their own salads.
Their ‘duties’ will also involve reviewing the leisure facilities in the hotels. After all, it’s important to know whether there is enough space for pool inflatables and jumping in! Hotel staff will also need to be on their best behaviour, as the Mini CEOs will also be inspecting them for friendliness at check-in, and overall attention to detail on the family experience offered.
Commenting on the search for this quirky job opening, Marketing Director Steve Manfield said: “To become a Radisson Blu Flagship Family Hotel, each hotel must have an operational commitment to provide an excellent family experience. Therefore, what better way to test this out, than with the family members that matter the most? As a parent myself, I know how travelling with children can be stressful and how a hard earned break can be ruined if the kids are miserable or not suitably catered-for. The search for our Mini CEOs will ensure that we listen and act upon the suggestions of our younger guests, to make the experience a truly memorable one for the whole family.”
What’s more, the Mini CEO that comes up with the winning innovative idea suggested at the group board meeting later in the year, will win a family holiday to Gran Canaria at the newly opened Radisson Blu Resort Mogan.
