Jumeirah Group, the global luxury hospitality company and a member of Dubai Holding, has appointed Francesco (Franco) Becci as Restaurant Manager of The Rib Room Bar & Restaurant at Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London’s Knightsbridge.
Franco joins the Jumeirah Carlton Tower team with a wealth of food and beverage experience gathered during his 40-year career in the industry. His most recent role was Restaurant Manager of French fine dining restaurant Roux at the Landau, a position he held for 9 years.
Having studied hotel management in his native Italy, Franco began his hospitality career at the four-star Caravelle Hotel in Venice before moving to London in 1982. Since then he has enjoyed a number of senior restaurant roles at some of London’s most prestigious hotels including The Savoy, Browns Hotel and, most recently, The Langham.
Reporting to Director of Food & Beverage Charl Leicester, Franco will oversee all aspects of The Rib Room Bar & Restaurant operations. Once described by Tatler magazine as running his restaurants with “uncommon warmth and humour”, he brings his well-known charm and attention to detail to the role.
Awarded three AA Rosettes for culinary and service excellence, The Rib Room Bar & Restaurant is renowned as a bastion of British cuisine, serving its legendary roast rib of beef alongside contemporary, classic and seasonal dishes; imaginative cocktails and premium gins; and a choice of over 450 wines.
