The Elephant in Torquay is continuing its Guest Chef series with two top chefs this autumn.
Chef Adam BennettRecent guest chef events have been sellouts and there are only a couple of tables available for Adam Bennett’s dinner on Wednesday 17 August.
Adam will be serving a delicious five course menu:
- Smoked eel, roast cauliflower, capers, sultanas and sorrel
- Chicken liver parfait, beetroot, blackcurrants, hibiscus
- Crispy duck egg, white asparagus, English cured ham
- Rump of Cornish Lamb, smoked leek, cockles, dashi potatoes, sea vegetables
- Raspberry, lychee and rose
Following Adam will be Chris Simpson, Head Chef at the two-Michelin Starred Restaurant Nathan Outlaw in Port Isaac, who will be cooking on Thursday 18 October. Chris moved to the restaurant with Nathan having spent four years working at St Enodoc in Rock. Prior to this, Chris worked at FG Restaurant, Rotterdam, Restaurant Martin Wishart, Edinburgh and The Vineyard, Stockcross. He also spent a year working and travelling in Australia following college and three years training at The Northcote Manor, in Langho near Blackburn.
Chris is renowned for delivering of delicate dishes with a depth of richness and pure simplicity. The dinner will take place on Tuesday 18 October.
Mark Poynton, former Great British Menu contestant and the chef behind Alimentum, the much acclaimed Michelin starred restaurant in Cambridge will be joining Simon on Tuesday 22 November. Mark is a fantastic chef who also has experience working in a two Michelin starred restaurant having worked under Daniel Clifford at Midsummer House prior to taking over Alimentum.
