Coming this summer to one of London’s most exclusive postcodes is HYDE Kensington. Located opposite Kensington Palace this cocktail bar will be bringing a brand new offering to this part of town. The discreet entrance guides you to a warmly lit environment with the walls adorned with eclectic, life-‐size art pieces by critically acclaimed British artist JJ Adams. There are spacious booths with plush sofas, high seats at the bar and tables along the venue, as well as a private room and club at the rear of the venue.
Starting with their fantastic cocktail list designed by world class bartender Andy Mil. Andy has put together some amazing signature creations including the Mad Hatter concocted from Bombay Sapphire, Hyde Ginger Brew and fresh Lemon juice and served in a smoking glass teapot. Another is called the ‘Shell Shock’ made from Bacardi Negra, Bacardi Superior, Hyde’s own caramel and coconut mix with pineapple juice, served in a massive ceramic seashell to share.
There will also be a fantastic food offering from Chef Adi Gunawan who worked previously under Ian Pengelly for 8 years includingthe famous Gilgamesh. The Pan-‐ Asian menu he has created is already winning fans at previews and includes such signature dishes as the Plum miso-‐marinated Chilean seabass and the Duck & watermelon salad cashew nuts with Thai herbs.
Another very exciting part of this venue is the bespoke artwork created by leading artist JJ Adams. Having spent a lot of time in South Africa and also being a trained tattoo artist JJ has drawn great influence from these experiences to create some of the art worlds most talked about pieces today. His last collection sold out almost immediately so the bespoke work he is creating for Hyde Kensington is already much anticipated.
Hyde also has one more trick up its sleeve. On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturday nights a hidden door at the back of the venue slides open to reveal a gorgeous dance floor. Complete with top spec DJ booth and lighting it offers revellers a place to dance the night way until a very generous 3am to some of the best DJ’s on the international set.
