Successful pub operator, Redcomb Pubs Ltd, has signed a long lease agreement with European Land & Property Ltd to launch a new, urban, casual dining venture at the heart of the newly redeveloped Paddington Basin area. Lock House, acquired through agents Shelley Sandzer, is situated on the ground floor of waterside development, 3 Merchants Square. The site encompasses over 3,700 sq ft and represents an exciting new direction for the operator in its vision to broaden its portfolio and accelerate growth.
Heralded to be one of the most exciting new areas to live, work and play in London, Paddington’s Merchants Square development includes a diverse range of mixed-use properties, offering over 2,000,000 sq ft of offices, homes, shops and leisure facilities, and housing the global headquarters of retail giant, Marks and Spencer.
Redcomb Pubs Ltd is now set to invest over £1.3m to develop Lock House and create a casual, all-day dining and bar offering that will match the needs of new look Paddington’s discerning and affluent residents, office workers and visitors.
Scheduled to open in September 2016, Redcomb Pubs is also exploring opportunities to roll-out its new Lock House concept to other high-profile metropolitan areas.
Open from 8am each day, Lock House Paddington will boast a 180-cover bar, restaurant and mezzanine, and an extended 70-cover exterior dining space. The menu, developed by Executive Head Chef, Chris Spencer, will feature handcrafted, street food inspired dishes, superfood salads and grab-and-go options for today’s fast-paced consumer, combined with an international premium craft beer, cocktail and fine wine offering.
Commenting on the launch and development of Lock House Paddington, Dan Shotton, Managing Director of Redcomb Pubs Ltd says;
“These are exciting times for Redcomb as we scale up our programme of accelerated expansion and capitalise on new growth areas within Britain’s burgeoning casual dining sector. Our expansion into Central London adds to our already strong portfolio of hospitality businesses operating within the suburbs and home counties, and we continue to explore new areas of growth to further develop our business.”
