Jim Marner, president of the Building Engineering Services Association (the BESA), has joined Interserve Engineering Services (IES) as regional director for the North East and Newcastle.
He takes up his new senior role after more than 30 years with SES Wates, laterally as business director. Interserve is a FTSE 250 company that provides design, construction, equipment, facilities management and frontline public services. Based in the UK, it has an annual turnover of £3.6bn and a workforce of close to 80,000 people worldwide.
Mr Marner served as divisional operations director, national pre-construction director and business development director during his long service at SES. He set up a new region in the North West as well as taking on the role of non-executive director of the company’s offsite manufacturing facility.
At Interserve, he will be reporting directly to IES managing director Mike Knowles, and has been tasked with delivering the company’s strategic vision of “technical excellence, quality of delivery and growth specific to the North and Newcastle”.
