Balans Soho Society is set to open its latest addition to the London-based casual dining restaurant group next month. Located in Seven Dials close to Covent Garden, the 60-cover venue will be open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, supper and late-night dining with a café-style approach.
Designed by Simon Costin, the 100 square metre space will feature many of the elements of its popular sister sites; the flagship restaurant in Soho, plus sites on Kensington High Street, both Westfield shopping centres and a café on Soho’s Old Compton Street. Think dark wooden tables and curious collectables in secret cabinets and on shelves. The café atmosphere lends itself to those looking for a quick visit just as much as a more relaxed supper. A limited number of covers outside will also be available during the summer months.
Overseen by Executive Chef Crispin Chetwynd, the kitchen will serve seasonal dishes from locally sourced producers. Classic and signature cocktails will appear on the café’s menu including the Captain Redleg’s Afternoon Tea and Strawberry Martini.
Owner David Taylor comments, “We are very excited to launch this new site in Seven Dials, an exciting area that has recently seen lots of investment. The new café-style Balans Soho Society will continue to offer a haven for the rogues, rascals and reprobates of London wishing to escape the routine everyday.”
Julia Wilkinson, Portfolio and Group Restaurant Strategy Executive at Shaftesbury, added: “Balans Soho Society is an eye-catching concept and this prominent position at the heart of Seven Dials will ensure they stand out. This popular all-day alfresco café fits perfectly into a day out shopping or visiting the local theatres and it is an excellent addition to Monmouth Street.”
