London based caterer, Kudos Delivered, flew in exquisite dishes and bespoke cuisines on Wednesday 27 April to commemorate the launch of British Airways’ new direct flight to San Jose in the US – the heart of Silicon Valley. The flight aims to connect working professionals in London to the tech hub of the US better than ever before.
The event was hosted by popular online news outlet, Mashable, which is currently promoting the new route with the hashtag #BAinSanJose. British Airways will be using its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner plane with a newly reformed first class cabin for the route which is scheduled to commence on 4 May 2016.
The #BAinSanJose event was hosted at the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane – a fitting location as East London is considered to be the birthplace of technological talent and the home of start-up technology companies.
Kudos Delivered created a California themed menu especially for the event, mainly consisting of a selection of Silicon Valley canapés developed by KD’s in-house culinary specialists. These ranged from the very tech appropriate ‘Silicon Silders’ to the filling ‘San Fran Fritters’ and brought the tastes of the USA to the heart of London.
Managing Director of Kudos Delivered, Nicky Pratt, commented: “It has been very exciting having the opportunity to cater for this event. Mashable is a very influential and prominent news source and we wanted our culinary creations to stand out in the very same way.
“Our chefs at Kudos Delivered HQ flexed their creative muscles and came up with a bespoke menu that’d even go down well Stateside. British Airways is aiming to connect people globally with their new flight so we emulated this concept with our range of canapés and light bites in order to achieve that true West Coast taste.
“The event went really well and feedback has been nothing but fantastic. The events team at Mashable were a pleasure to work with and we can’t wait to have the opportunity to work with them again!”
