Levy Restaurants UK, the sports, leisure and hospitality sector of Compass Group UK & Ireland has signed a five-year catering contract to design and manage a wide range of new eating and dining spaces at the Imperial War Museum’s (IWM) branches;:IWM Duxford, a world-renowned aviation museum and Britain’s best preserved wartime airfield; Churchill War Rooms, housed in Churchill’s secret headquarters below Whitehall; and the Second World War cruiser HMS Belfast.
The contract, worth £7.3 million per annum, will see Levy Restaurants UK opening a new high street brand café and bar on HMS Belfasta casual dining restaurant at IWM Duxford as well as providing a variety of hospitality services at the historic airfields.
Meetings and events
As part of the commercial strategy, Lime Venue Portfolio, a sales and marketing consortium for venues and events and part of Levy Restaurants UK, will be responsible for increasing sales and further establishing the museums as venues for meetings and events, including everything from private dining to Christmas parties.
Levy Restaurants UK has been working with IWM North in Trafford, Greater Manchester for 11 years and is well versed with the unique requirements of working with culturally significant venues.
