The Perceptions Group, Pub & Bar Careers have received funding from leading trade association, the ALMR, to execute an advertising campaign promoting pub and bar careers. The online display campaign, which launched on Friday 1 May, runs for a month on the websites of three national newspaper titles: The Daily Mail, The Daily Telegraph and The Guardian.
The Pub & Bar Careers initiative aims to inform the public about the vast array of worthwhile and rewarding career paths that are available to young people, and to change the common perception that a career in the hospitality industry can only be short term.
Launch of website
The advertising campaign comes ahead of the launch of the new Pub & Bar Careers website, which is due to go live in June. The website will act as a portal of information, showcasing numerous job roles alongside real life case studies from other young people working in the industry as well as a wealth of information on pub and bar operators.
Keith Knowles, Chairman of The Perceptions Group, Pub & Bar Careers said: “This is a great opportunity for Pub & Bar Careers to gain some national awareness. Youth unemployment has long been a topic of importance and the launch of the new website will allow us to show how promising a career in the hospitality industry can be by providing key information in just a few clicks.
“With the pub and bar industry looking to fill 212,000 jobs by 2020, this advertising campaign allows us to demonstrate not only to young people, but also to parents, teachers and careers advisors the wide variety of career paths that are available.”
The adverts are expected to reach 90,000 people over the month of May, and in the first four days alone 36,700 people have seen the online banners.
