Qbic Hotels took the 2014 TRAVELCLICK eMarketer of the Year Award at the glittering HSMAI Adrian Awards in New York at the end of February. TRAVELCLICK, the leader in hotel ecommerce solutions, sponsored the eMarketer of the Year competition in partnership with the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and the Adrian Awards, now in its 58th year.
Outstanding use of online channels
The eMarketer of the Year Award recognizes hotels that exhibit outstanding use of online channels to market their property and drive reservations. Qbic Hotels was this year’s deserved recipient having demonstrated their superior ability to attract and convert guests through their electronic channels.
To combat an abandonment rate of 93%, typical to the travel industry, Qbic Hotels implemented cloud.IQ technology to target these already engaged customers, to retain and recover a significant amount of lost sales, ultimately driving incremental revenue. This optimised customer conversion campaign led to a 12.27% uplift in online sales.
Julie Fawcett, CEO at Qbic Hotel comments: “We are delighted to have been awarded this prestigious award for our emarketing efforts. Qbic Hotels challenge the stereotypes of low-cost hotels and both our Amsterdam and London properties offer a cool and affordable urban experience. It is this unique and fresh positioning that has allowed us to be creative in our on-line marketing application which is paying off.”
This is the second award in less than six months for Qbic Hotels, who were also recently awarded the Number 1 Green Hotel in London by TripAdvisor.
