London bakery Foxcroft & Ginger is launching the UK’s first Cruffin on 6 March 2015.
The new croissant-muffin hybrid is described as set to be the next big pastry craze, and follows Following in the footsteps of the Cronut.
The Cruffins are made with the artisan bakery’s secret sourdough croissant mix, which is carefully hand-folded using the best French butter. Instead of using a traditional croissant mould, the pastries are then baked into a muffin shape, allowing for a generous space inside for fillings – no scrimping on the chocolate here! Dusted with cinnamon sugar, the Cruffins will be crunchy and flaky on the outside and wickedly soft and gooey on the inside.
Innovative flavours filling the Cruffins will include a rich chocolate ganache, a house-made ‘Snickers’ with nuts and caramel, custard, custard and raisin and custard and jam.
The Cruffins are priced from £2.70 each and are only available from artisan bakery and cafes Foxcroft & Ginger, located in Soho and Whitechapel, plus Old Street Underground Station from April 2015.
Foxcroft & Ginger offers a specialist range of hand-made baked goods, incredible cakes, delicious brunches, sourdough-based pizza, brilliant Bloody Marys and exquisite coffee. Every single ingredient is freshly made in-house, with original recipes lovingly tweaked to perfection.
