JUST EAT, the world’s leading online takeaway platform, is today celebrating its 100 millionth UK order with CEO David Buttress, saying:
‘Reaching the 100 millionth order milestone is fantastic – we couldn’t have done it without our incredible teams and restaurant partners. I’m so proud to see the progress JUST EAT has made since I first joined eight years ago. I remember renting our first UK office, screwing the desks and chairs together, and then signing up our first restaurant, Super Pizza. This is a really great day.’
Enough to fill 500 Wembley Stadiums!
Graham Corfield UK MD of JUST EAT, added: ‘I’d like to congratulate Bits N Pizza for processing the 100 millionth order and winning the cash prize. It’s a great cause for celebration for JUST EAT too – 100 million orders is enough curry to fill over 500 Wembley stadiums or enough pizza boxes to go around the world!
“We also hope that the lucky customer who made the winning order enjoys their year-long supply of free takeaway, whatever their preferred dish.”
Over the past eight years JUST EAT has successfully spearheaded the concept of ordering takeaway online and has created a platform that hungry consumers find convenient and easy to use: there are now more than 4.7 million active customers on its marketplace for takeaway food in the UK.
Customers use JUST EAT mobile apps and the website to order nearly 100 different types of food from more than 22,500 restaurant partners for delivery or collection.
Recent innovations include a search function for food by post codes and emoticons on JUST EAT’s smartphone apps.
