Broadgate signs up Peppermint Bars, Sourced Market and Smokestak
Broadgate City of London has signed up seasonal specialists Peppermint Bars, Sourced Market and Smokestak to deliver a brand new luxury pop-up bar, canteen and smokehouse at Broadgate Ice Rink.
From 17 November 2014 to 26 February 2015, Broadgate’s Exchange Square will once again become home to London’s longest running outdoor ice rink. Bigger and better than ever, the Broadgate Ice Rink will this year feature ‘The Tasting Room’.
For a 15 week run ‘The Tasting Room’ will bring a frequently changing menu to tantalise taste buds and drinks will be taken care of by pop up experts Peppermint Bars, who will be serving up an exciting range of fresh craft ales from London’s finest breweries, an eclectic wine selection, and winter classics including spiced buttered rum and mulled cider.
Smokestak will freshly smoke all dishes on site using a hand built 2 tonne US smoker to create classics such as authentic pulled pork and brisket buns, spicy wings, USDA prime beef ribs and the legendary 1 kg Flinstone Dino rib to name just a few.
For the early birds in and around the City of London, locally sourced loin back bacon baps, freshly baked Crosstown doughnuts and an exclusive coffee blend developed just for The Tasting Room by specialty London roasters Mission Coffee Works will be served from 8am.
Samantha Rush, Head of Marketing, Communications and Events at Broadgate, said “Broadgate Ice rink is going to be spectacular this year. We’ve expanded the ice pad to create more room for skaters and with the addition of ‘The Tasting Room’ the ice rink will be a fantastic place to host private events, corporate bookings and Christmas parties or just to come along and enjoy a skate over the festive season.
“We wanted to bring something special to the ice rink for its 29th year, it’s the perfect grand finale to Broadgate’s 2014 events programme. The Tasting Room will bring a unique London offer with quality produce to Exchange Square – a welcome addition to our existing bars and restaurants where our guests and resident occupiers enjoy spending time.”
