The Channel 5 TV programme featuring Marston’s called One Ale of a Job is now due to air next Friday, 29 August at 8pm.
Narrated by Al Murray, the Pub Landlord, this light-hearted hour-long reality show will air over three consecutive weeks – with repeats on channel 5 +1 – and will showcase the many unsung heroes and heroines who work tirelessly behind the scenes across the country.
If the viewing audience is large enough after the first show, more programmes will be commissioned by the channel so Marston’s 14,000 employees are being urged to tell colleagues, friends and family to tune next week using the link to the show’s website.
Twitter fans will be using the hashtag #MarstonsBrewery for the programme.
The first episode features:
- Ringwood’s dynamic drinks delivery draymen duo, Darren Bailey and Steve Goodchild as they go to the rescue of some Dorchester pubs before a bank holiday;
- Steve Bruntlett the Florence Nightingale of Ale responding to a beer emergency;
- On-site engineer, Ian McCormack and brewer, Maurice Walton have to fix a dangerous broken boiler before it causes a catastrophe;
- Wolverhampton’s admiral of the ale, Geoff Rock, who is picking and packing for his 4.30 deadline;
- And maintenance matriarch Anne Cox returns to work after a holiday to oversee her army of mechanics – heaven help her assistant Malcolm Bowen if the kettle’s not on!
