Food designer “rhubarb” has made a new appointment to its management team with Martyn Barrett as Director of Travel.
With over 20 years’ experience at some of the UK’s best food operators, including Selfridges and SSP, Martyn can be credited with the complete transformation of the food offering within London City Airport, developing the award-winning City Bar and Grill, Rhubarb Restaurant & Bar and Illy franchises.
In his role as Director of Travel, newly created, Martyn will oversee the mobilisation of all “rhubarb”-operated airport locations, with responsibilities that range from product development and franchise management to finance and design.
PB Jacobse, Managing Director at “rhubarb”, says: “Martyn will support and strengthen our management team as our travel portfolio expands. He brings significant experience and will play a pivotal role in our travel division. We welcome Martyn at this very exciting time.”
In addition to operating in airports and providing bespoke catering for events, “rhubarb” also operates Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street, Gallery Mess at the Saatchi Gallery, Bond & Brook at Fenwick Bond Street and the six dining destinations at the Royal Albert Hall, including recently-opened Verdi, amongst others.
