Centerplate, the global event hospitality company serving more than 350 premier stadia, convention centres, and entertainment venues across North America and Europe, has appointed Adrian Dishington to the position of Chief Operating Officer of Centerplate’s UK Division, reporting to Centerplate President and CEO Des Hague.
Announcing the appointment, Centerplate President and CEO Des Hague, says: “Adrian is an outstanding leader with a track record of success in managing world-class hospitality enterprises. His experience building high-performing teams and adding value to relationships with clients, partners and colleagues across an array of operations makes him ideally-suited to lead the Centerplate team in delivering outstanding hospitality to our clients and guests.”
Originally from Scotland, Dishington holds a degree in Hospitality Management from Dundee University, and has more than 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. Dishington joined Centerplate in North America in 2010 as the executive responsible for Centerplate in the Pacific Northwest.
His wealth of experience includes key leadership roles in prominent fine dining, travel, professional sports, and leisure operations ranging from elite cruise lines and 4- and 5-star luxury hotels to national parks and top professional sports and concert venues. His extensive background in high-profile events management and guest services includes food and beverage operations for the Viceroy Santa Monica—named by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the “50 hottest hotels in the world”; the Major League Baseball All-Star Game; the CFL Grey Cup at Vancouver’s BC Place Stadium; and Seattle’s Safeco Field—home of the Seattle Mariners and widely recognised as one of the best parks in Major League Baseball.
As the company’s top executive in the UK, Dishington will assume responsibility for Centerplate’s client portfolio across the United Kingdom.
The appointment follows the departure of President of UK Operations, Adam Elliott, who will remain with Centerplate in a consulting capacity during a transitional period. The change takes effect immediately.
Centerplate’s President and CEO, Des Hague says: “We thank Adam for his dedication, passion and the many important strategic contributions he’s made to Centerplate. His leadership established a solid foundation for Centerplate’s future in Europe, and we wish him every success for the future.”
