The five-AA-star Celtic Manor has just completed a £900,000 investment in further improving the property ahead of hosting the Ryder Cup in October.
After already spending more than £20m in building the Twenty Ten Course and Clubhouse for the forthcoming golf tournament, the resort has just opened the Olive Tree Garden Room, a children’s adventure playground and toddlers’ park, and a major extension to the existing Barbecue Pavilion.
The Olive Tree Garden Room, next to the Olive Tree Restaurant, provides space for an additional 120 covers at breakfast, and will also be used for functions. Featuring a multi-deck system, the children’s playground measures 500sq m and offers a range of adventure trail activities.
Meanwhile, the extension to the Barbecue Pavilion includes a roof which will allow barbecues to be held in all weathers.
The new developments have been introduced in response to a strong growth in leisure booking during the recession.
