Professional kitchen and refrigeration maintenance nationwide
F-Gas 2011
As a major refrigeration service provider to some of the country’s most prestigious companies and public organizations, Serviceline has a responsibility to reassure all customers that it complies with legislation and best practice.
By 2011, all service engineers and installers must be certificated and systems for monitoring refrigerant gases and gas leaks must be in place with all users of commercial refrigeration equipment. From July 2009, it will be illegal for companies who are not REFCOM certificated to provide refrigeration services.
Even at this early stage, Serviceline has been helping customers prepare for the new regulations. For up to date advice on all your refrigeration needs, contact Gary Nicholls at Serviceline and we will make sure that you’re covered.
REGULATIONS
The principal objective of the EC Regulation is to contain, prevent and thereby reduce emissions of F gases covered by the Kyoto Protocol, so as to help combat climate change. Fluorinated gases have a high global warming effect if released into the atmosphere.
REFCOM was named by DEFRA as the body responsible for company certifications, required by law under the F-gas regulations.
